Baked Pasta (Quick and Easy)

Ingredients:
  • 6-8 oz. uncooked pasta (rotini, penne, farfalle, etc.)
  • 2 C Marinara sauce or favorite jarred sauce
  • 1 C (4oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 C (1oz.) shredded Asiago or Parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • hot pepper sauce to taste (such as Tabasco), optional
  • 6 oz. cooked protein of choice (Italian sausage, chicken breast, meatballs, etc.)
  • Additional mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for topping
  • Cooking spray
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.

Combine pasta, Marinara, 1cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup Asiago or Parmesan, salt, pepper, hot sauce and protein in a large bowl. Spoon into an 8-inch square baking dish coated with cooking spray; sprinkle with additional mozzarella and Asiago or Parmesan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
